COMMENTS

When visitors leave comments on my website, I collect the data shown in the comment form, as well as the visitor’s IP address and browser user-agent string to help detect spam.

MEDIA

If you upload images to my website, please avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Visitors to my site could otherwise extract this location data from your images.

 

COOKIES

When you leave a comment on my site, you can consent to saving your name, email address, and website in cookies. This is a convenience feature so you don’t have to fill in your details again when you write another comment. These cookies remain stored for one year.

When you visit my login page, a temporary cookie is set to check whether your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is deleted when you close your browser.

When you log in, several cookies are set to save your login details and display preferences. Login cookies last for two days; display option cookies last for one year. If you select "Stay logged in," your login remains for two weeks. Logging out deletes the login cookies.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie is stored in your browser. This cookie contains no personal data and only refers to the post ID of the edited article. It expires after one day.

 

EMBEDDED CONTENT FROM OTHER WEBSITES

Posts on my site may contain embedded content (e.g., videos, images, articles). Embedded content from other websites behaves as if you visited that other website directly.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with the embedded content—especially if you have an account and are logged in there.

 

WHO I SHARE YOUR DATA WITH

If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.

 

HOW LONG I STORE YOUR DATA

Comments and their metadata are stored permanently so I can automatically recognize and approve follow-up comments instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users who register on my site (if possible), I also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except usernames). As the website administrator, I can also view and edit this information.

 

WHAT RIGHTS YOU HAVE OVER YOUR DATA

If you have an account on my site or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of your personal data, including data you provided to me. You can also request that I delete all personal data I hold about you. This does not include data I must keep for administrative, legal, or security reasons.
